Marcella Camargo Quartet at Ramler Park

The sounds of Brazilian-influenced jazz music will fill the Fenway at Swingin’ in the Fens, July 11, at 6:30 p.m. Berklee-based act Marcella Camargo Quartet will perform. Hailing from Sao Paulo, Brazil, singer and arranger Marcella Camargo performs unique arrangements of blues and jazz standards influenced by the sounds of her native country. A recent graduate of Berklee College of Music, Camargo has been invited to share the stage with artists like Paul Simon, Ivan Lins, and Jetro da Silva. Camargo formed her quartet for the simple reason of getting friends together to play Brazilian music and now performs Brazilian jazz fusion throughout Boston for private parties and events like the 2011 and 2012 Taste of the Back Bay....

The annual free concert presented by Berklee in partnership with the Boston Parks and Recreation Department’s ParkARTS program moves to a new location this year at Ramler Park, located at 130 Peterborough Street. Picnics and folding chares are encouraged, and the event is wheelchair accessible. Presenters of Swingin’ in the Fens are Berklee College of Music’s Office of Community Affairs and Campus Engagement, the Fenway Civic Association, and ParkARTS. In the event of inclement weather, Swingin’ in the Fens will be postponed to July 25 at 6:30 p.m.The concert is part of Berklee’s Summer in the City presented by Natixis Global Asset Management, with more than 115 free outdoor concerts.
