At the forefront of the new and abundant French jazz fusion scene, the quintet Monsieur Mâlâ is made up of five musicians whose complicity is long-standing, all leaders or sidemen recognized in the sphere of jazz and its satellites... With as a common base an infinite love for grooves of all kinds and improvised music.Their technical baggage, their cosmopolitan influences and their traveling souls stir a concoction of funk and rock, African and Caribbean music, while ingesting the new urban and electronic trends. Nothing is stuck or merged, everything flows. This feeling of fluidity prevails on an album released just a year ago and which could only be titled with the name Monsieur MÂLÂ. Named in reference to the rosary used for the recitation of mantras, the collective seeks and achieves transcendence, in the studio as on stage where its reputation fills the halls.Writing and improvisation, charisma and interaction, chaos and tranquility, but also groove, joy, elevation... In this same quest for plenitude, the five composers alternate intimate propositions, daring to express their joys or their sorrows, sublimated by the collective.
