Founded in 2004, the Witte/Kjær duo features Julie Kjær on alto saxophone and flute and Olga Witte on church organ. Right from the start, the two experimented with sounds in church settings and the exciting relationship between composition and improvisation. For this special music service, Olga Witte has composed pieces to go with the lyrics, which they will improvise around.Julie Kjær's (www.juliekjaer.com) raw, edgy, and thoughtful playing and “dark, otherworldly imagery” (Jazzwise) have been noticed in the European jazz and new music scene, moving between composition and improvised music.
