Grammy-winning trumpeter Irvin Mayfield returns to New York with his New Orleans Jazz Orchestra for the first time since their sold-out Carnegie Hall debut in 2012. The New York Times says Mayfield “has the clarion intonation and relaxed power of his city’s vaunted trumpet lineage.” Expect a program that showcases the best of the New Orleans sound, from 1950’s and 1960’s R&B songs to jazz to gospel, funk and blues. Soul great, Aaron Neville, contributes his inimitable, platinum-certified vocal style as featured guest.
