The Park Theater Tour & Lunch Nov. 7 Friday | 10:30 a.m. to noon | The Park Theater, Glens Falls Get an inside look at the historic Park Theater! Built in 1911, The Park Theater served as the first movie theater in Glens Falls, becoming a gathering place for residents to watch silent films and vaudeville shows. After closing in 1935, Glens Falls Post Co. (former publishers of The Post-Star), purchased the theater in 1937 and converted it into a printing plant. In 2014, local developer Elizabeth Miller, president of Miller Industrial Manufacturing, purchased the property for restoration. The Park Theater reopened in 2018 as a state-of-the-art performing and event space, with Doc’s Restaurant located downstairs. In 2022, Doc’s Restaurant closed its doors and the culinary team relocated across the street to Park & Elm. The Park Theater now operates as a fully functioning event space perfect for weddings, conferences, concerts and more.
