Polly Ferman - Habaneras Milongas Tangos at Marc A Scorca Hall Of National Opera Center

Jeffrey James Arts Consulting presents Pianist Polly Ferman performing Habaneras Milongas, Tangos, a multimedia solo piano recital, with commentary, showcasing Tango from its African roots to the  New Tango. Projections , film and music will take the audience on a journey through Tangos history before, during and after the emergence of the well-known Tango for dancing. It will also show how difficult it was for women to enter this Rio de la Plata  (Argentina and Uruguay) City-style world. 

Polly Ferman has been called "musical ambassador of the Americas" by the Japan Times. One of the leading interpreters of the music of the Americas, her extensive tours as a soloist have included performances with the Symphonies of San Francisco, Colorado, Vancouver, and Indianapolis, as well as orchestras in Japan, Ukraine, Philippines, Brazil, in addition to recitals in New York, Tokyo, Washington D.C., London, Munich and Buenos Aires.
