Portico Quartet at Smida Jazz Festival at Smida Park

Portico Quartet (United Kingdom), compared with Radiohead, The Cinematic Orchestra and Efterklang by The Guardian, will bring cinematic compositions to Smida. Starting back in 2005, this band has been a rather eclectic project, very hard to add a label to and it took a Mercury Prize nomination in 2008 for it to be associated with the jazz scene. Fusing folk, trip-hop, electronic and minimal together, this group does it all. The band is made up of Duncan Bellamy (drums), Milo Fitzpatrick (bass), Keir Vine (keyboards) and Jack Wyllie (sax).
