About
In observance of Jazz Appreciation Month, the quintet āRaĆcesā will be performing a program paying homage to the originators of Latin Jazz such as Cal Tjader and Mongo Santamaria, and performing original music in the same style. The group was founded by Chicago percussionist RubĆ©n Alvarez and is currently led by vibraphonist Joe Sonnefeldt. Their debut album features eight original compositions played in styles including Cha-Cha-Cha, Afro 6/8, Mambo, Bolero, Songo and more.
