Ranger and the "re-Arrangers" with Special Guest Eric Vanderbilt-Mathews at Bainbridge Island Museum of Art Auditorium

Ranger and the “Re-Arrangers” first heard Eric Vanderbilt-Mathews at a Gypsy jazz festival in 2011, where his clarinet playing at the after-hours jams drew attention from top international players. The Whidbey Island native has earned several national awards, including Outstanding Soloist at the Lionel Hampton festival, and is currently finishing a degree in Jazz Saxophone Performance at the University of Washington.

The set list will include American swing standards, traditional Gypsy melodies, and the music of Django Reinhardt. Mr. Vanderbilt-Mathews will play both clarinet and saxophone, joining the band’s regular soloists on violin, mandolin, and guitar....
