Navajo, Pueblo, Apache, Unangaxฬ and O'odham Indigenous Nations will be represented at the first Rez Metal night in Denver, Colorado. The sounds of Rez Metal are described as fast, distorted, raw & griddy but also capture influences of the Metal genre ranging from Black, Death, Thrash, Metal & Hard Core, Progressive or just "all Indigenous". ALL are welcome, All Ages are encouraged to come! Ocean HarvestOcean Harvest Began in 2013, coming out of Gila River/Salt River Indian Communities in Arizona. The band consists of brothers Winston Jose, & Elias Jose, along with younger brother Sydney Krech, with Addison Fowler on Drums.Iron TuskFormed in 2016, Alberta-based hardcore trio Iron Tusk makes their home on Treaty 7 territory, the traditional lands of the Siksika (Blackfoot) peoples. Casting off convention and self-censorship the threesome, comprising guitarist/vocalist Ty Maguire, bassist/vocalist William Big Crow, and drummer Carlin Black Rabbit, has arrived at a new, higher, plateau of Musicianship. The close-knit group explores the impact of broken bones, dreams and promises. Icarus has nothing on these sky-gazing rockers, every song resounds with a desire to break free from the constraints and stresses of everyday life and embrace the simple beauty of truth. Fuzzed-out screams and galloping guitar runs adopt a slothful repose that recalls the sludgy majesty of Southern rock stalwarts while injecting a fresh and authentic Indigi-punk aesthetic into the Mix. Currently, Iron Tusk is in the process of polishing off five original songs with producer/engineer Josh Gwillam that are coming together both inside and outside of the studio (slip-on Vans preferred). Leaning into their lasting friendships and fruitful collaborations of the past, Ty, Carlin, and William have cultivated the โexpertise and enthusiasmโ to generate their โfinest composition of music to date!โ Civilizations crumble, kingdoms fall, and angry spirits roam the landscape. Iron Tusk has witnessed it all, and their righteous outrage flows forth in an array of fast-turns, jagged detours, and drumbeats emanating from deep within the Earth.Under ExileUnder Exile is a 5 piece metal band from Shiprock New Mexico. They released their first project in 2015 titled โSelf Imposed Exileโ with a follow-up release in 2017 with their concept album โMake Your Peace With Itโ. After a small hiatus from 2019-2022 the band reformed with their original core lineup of Ryland Benally and Rumeel Jim on guitar, Wyatt Billie on drums and Franklin Yazzie on vocals. They brought in Trevor Martin as their official bass player and additional songwriter in 2023. The band has recorded an albumโs worth of material in 2023 with billboard charting producer Erik Jensen of Escape the Fate. These songs are currently being released on streaming platforms.Existence ADExistence AD is based out of Phoenix, Arizona. The band originated from their home in the Dine Nation never forgetting their roots. Founded in the early 2000s by original member Warren. His drumming and guitar influences steamed from the nu-metal genre. Randi is lead female Vocalist and has brought killer energy and power from her influences steaming from OTEP, Angela Gossow, and Jamie Jasta. Al Yaz has brought his guitar talent and influences such as As I Lay Dying and All That Remains, which lead to the bands first streaming single, "Reborn". Ryan is the current bass addition bringing his amazing energy to every live performance. Each member has always had their passion for music and love for the Native underground Rez Metal scene. Graves of the MonumentsGraves of the Monuments is a five piece Native metal band from Page, Arizona hailing from the Navajo Nation. With lyrics that are inspired through Native culture and current events, our songs paint a vivid tapestry of desolation, resilience, and the unyielding spirit of the Southwest four corners.
