An exceptional concert! Like many artists of her generation, Rhoda Scott grew up in the atmosphere of evangelical churches, lulled by gospel music. The daughter of a pastor, she developed a talent for the Hammond organ at an early age and began accompanying choirs at the age of eight. She continued her musical studies in New York, then in Paris where she was a student of Nadia Boulanger. Her career accelerated in the 1970s, when she gained the respect of her peers. She played on the biggest stages in the world, alongside Dizzy Gillespie, Count Basie, Ray Charles, Lionel Hampton, Ella Fitzgerald ...The Lady All Stars was born in 2004, at Jazz à Vienne, when the legend Rhoda Scott met the finest French jazz musicians: Sophie Alour, Airelle Besson and Julie Saury. Together they decided to create a women's quartet mixing their jazz, swing, gospel and soul influences. Since then, the sisterhood has grown to eight members, most of whom have already performed individually at the Théâtre du Vésinet. At the end of November, they will make us groove to the sound of their latest album, continuing to bring a wind of freedom and originality in a musical universe still largely dominated by men!...
