Salmon Saumon is a quartet that is unmistakably jazz and undeniably folk. With subtle virtuosity, the 4 musicians transport the listener into an experience oscillating between bewitching intimacy and explosive moments.The four musicians met at the Conservatoire National de Paris (CNSM), and joined the Orchestre National de Jazz des Jeunes. After a year of touring, and their studies completed, the musical affinity they developed led them to continue the quartet experience, this time around a repertoire of their own, made up of original pieces as well as covers of songs.This is how the group was born, around their love of jazz and folk. Salmon Saumon est un quartet assurément jazz et indéniablement folk. D’une virtuosité subtile, les 4 musiciens, transportent l’auditeur·rice dans une expérience oscillant entre intimité envoûtante et moments explosifs.Les quatre compères se rencontrent au Conservatoire National de Paris (CNSM), et se retrouvent à l’Orchestre National de Jazz des Jeunes. Après une année de tournée, et leurs études terminées, l’affinité musicale qu’ils développent les pousse à continuer l’expérience en quartet, cette fois ci autour d’un répertoire qui leur est propre, composé de morceaux originaux mais aussi de reprises de chansons.C'est ainsi qu'est né ce groupe, autour de cet amour pour le jazz et la folk. Portés par une volonté collective de fusionner leurs talents, ils donnent une attention particulière au son et à l’énergie du groupe, plutôt qu’à la mise en valeur de virtuoses individualités.
