With a background in soul and improvisation, her music bears the stamp of a soulful expression with warm harmonies, but also plays around with rap and groove-based riffs in a soundscape where the acoustic and electronic are closely woven together. Sanyu er en sanger og producer fra Oslo, der har gjort sig bemærket med optrædener på Øya, Villvilvest og har ved flere anledninger spillet på Københavns Jazzfestivaler. Med baggrund i r&b og improvisation bærer musikken præg af et sjælfuldt udtryk med varme harmonier, men spiller også med rap- og groove-baserede riffs i et lydbillede, hvor det akustiske og elektroniske er tæt vævet sammen. "Hendes beslutsomme og udforskende soul blandet med taktile spoken-word og hamrende jazz lader publikum med en energi, der varer hele aftenen".
