The evening features a group led by New School Jazz alum Shimrit Shoshan, a group of current New School Jazz students led by Eden Ladin and, direct from the Israel Conservatory of Music in Tel Aviv, a trio led by Jazz alum and director of the Center for Jazz Studies, Erez Bar Noy.

Our close relationship with Israel and Israeli musicians goes back to the first days of the school’s existence. Arnie Lawrence, founder of The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music, moved to Israel in 1997, where he founded the International Center for Creative Music, an education facility open to both Jewish and Arab students. In 2009, Jazz alumni Amit Golan, director of the Center for Jazz Studies at the Israel Conservatory of Music in Tel Aviv, created an academic partnership with Jazz executive director Martin Mueller that allows Israeli students to directly transfer to the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music after two years of study.

We are proud to represent this strong international cultural partnership with an evening of music by Israeli students and alumni.
