WP jazz studies director Bill Charlap is known for his interpretations of American popular songs and has recorded albums featuring the music of Hoagy Carmichael, Leonard Bernstein, and George Gershwin. His 2015 Jerome Kern CD with Tony Bennett won a Grammy Award. This year, he was featured on the acclaimed all-Gershwin CD Love Is Here to Stay with Tony Bennett and Diana Krall. This intimate solo performance showcases Charlap’s improvisational prowess and command of the instrument.
