Formed by four fiercely talented women, The Blakettes was born out of a passionate project and a statement of intent. Created in Europe but deeply rooted in the history of American jazz, the group did not simply set out to play music. Their aim was to honor, preserve, and revitalize the legacy of hard bop.Each member of The Blakettes brings her own flavor, story, and style. They each fell in love with jazz in their own way—some through records unearthed in dusty corners of music shops, others through conservatory studies or late-night jam sessions.

Créé en Europe mais profondément enraciné dans l’histoire du jazz américain, le groupe ne s’est pas contenté de jouer de la musique. Il visait à honorer, préserver et revitaliser l’héritage du hard bop.Chaque membre des Blakettes apporte sa propre saveur, son histoire et son style. Elles sont tombées amoureuses du jazz chacune à sa manière, certaines à travers des disques dénichés dans des recoins poussiéreux de magasins de musique, d’autres grâce à des études en conservatoire ou des jam sessions nocturnes.
