Tokyo born composer, arranger and pianist Miho Hazama is one of New York's most astounding young talents. She has assembled this special 18 piece big band tribute to one of her idols, pianist and composer Thelonious Monk, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of his birth.

Lauded in DownBeat magazine as one of "25 for the Future", Hazama has 2 full length recordings on Sunnyside Records. She has written for and showcased the abilities of well-known artists such as Joshua Redman, Stefon Harris, and Steve Wilson, to name a few. After the release of Hazama’s sophomore recording, Time River, All About Jazz said “her uncanny ability to remain intellectually stimulating and vibrantly spirited is what makes her work singularly innovative.” Composition is Miho’s true calling. She has composed, arranged and orchestrated for many ensembles, including the New York Jazzharmonic and Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, working alongside Vince Mendoza, Jim McNeely, and Jon Hendricks to name a few. Miho received a Master’s degree in jazz composition from the Manhattan School of Music, and was awarded the Charlie Parker Jazz Composition Prize in 2015.

Music Director Brad Linde is a saxophonist, bandleader, and presenter in the Washington DC metro area. He is the Director of Jazz and Creative Music at Georgetown Day School and Artist-in-Residence at the Atlas Performing Arts Center.
