Trumpeter And Bandleader Darren Barrett To Perform Free Jazz At The Fort Concert at Roxbury's Highland Park

Berklee and the City of Boston Parks and Recreation Department’s ParkARTS Neighborhood Concert Series will present jazz trumpeter and bandleader Darren Barrett B.A. ‘90, an associate professor of ensembles at Berklee, at the annual Jazz at the Fort concert on Sunday, August 6 at 5:00 p.m. The free performance will take place at Highland Park in Roxbury.

Barrett awes and energizes his audience with authoritative execution, infectious music compositions, and unpredictable band formations. Jazz at the Fort is part of Berklee's Summer in the City concert series, which features more than 400 performances by Berklee students, alumni, and faculty in neighborhoods throughout Boston. The ParkARTS Neighborhood Concert Series is made possible by Berklee, Friends of Ramler Park, the Fenway Civic Association, and the Navy Band Northeast.

Entrances to Highland Park are on Fort Avenue or Beach Glen Street in Roxbury. The park is wheelchair accessible. Parking is available at Columbus Avenue and Cedar Street in the Roxbury Community College lot. The park is also a short walk from the MBTA Roxbury Crossing Station.
