USF Jazz Ensemble 1 at Usf Concert Hall

The USF Jazz Ensemble I, under the direction of Professor Tom Brantley, will perform their Fall Concert on Wednesday, November 3, 2021, at 7:30 p.m. in the USF Concert Hall on campus in Tampa. This concert will feature Guest Artist Chris Crenshaw, who is a trombonist and composer/arranger with the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, under the direction of Wynton Marsalis, in New York City. The program will also include Crenshaw's many transcriptions of classic jazz works by Duke Ellington and Benny Golson. The USF Jazz Ensemble will perform one of Crenshaw's most recent transcriptions - a Duke Ellington composition called 'Trombonio-Bustoso-Issimo," which originally was a trombone feature for Ellington's trombonist Buster Cooper, who is from St Petersburg, Florida. Chris Crenshaw will play the Buster Cooper part on this concert.
