The Adirondack Regional Immigration Collaborative, Inc. We are composed of health care and social service providers, educators, faith-based groups, businesses that employ immigrants, and other non-profit leaders, all of whom understand that as they settle among us, immigrants add measurably to our region’s vitality.     To help create smooth resettlement pathways for them, we are developing efforts in three major categories: We provide the means to share information among our collaborators on how best to welcome and to settle the immigrants who are arriving here. These efforts include celebrating our new neighbors and providing information on how to protect them.We are developing a “strongbox” of resources that may be needed immediately as they arrive or subsequently in the near term until they can get on their own feet. These resources include information on best practices to integrate them into our communities and funding to help support them should there be urgent need to pay for legal support or housing.Recognizing the value of the diversity and economic strength they bring to us, to say nothing of the joy we receive in knowing them as new neighbors, we are developing a voice of advocacy to grow the size and energy of immigrant allies. We welcome you to our community forum on immigration, Voices at the Table, an event developed by ARIC with generous support from the Glens Falls Foundation. ARIC’s work is also supported with a grant from the Common Roots Foundation.  During the forum, we will share:Food and music from different parts of the world,Stories of some of our new neighbors and some of the businesses that employ them,Information about immigration law,Information about the challenges both immigrants and businesses face in light of the new administration’s push to close our borders and effect mass deportation, andThe reasons we should do what we can to keep them integrated among us.
