In Cuba, music runs in the blood, and a number of musical dynasties have defined both tradition and innovation. Saxophonist/percussionist/composer Yosvany Terry comes from a family of music-makers and has seized and carried the standard forward to a brave new age. “Lyrical, complex and caffeinated, it combines the instrumentation and ground rules of the classic hard-bop quintet with the rhythmic savvy of Afro-Cuban music.
