Telluride Jazz Festival

Telluride Jazz Festival ranks among the world’s most memorable music festivals. Since 1977, Telluride’s majestic perch high in the San Juan Mountains has been the site of an annual event produced by the Telluride Society for Jazz (a Colorado non-profit.org). The intimate format and superb music along with the opportunity for invigorating alpine recreation come together to create a truly unique weekend experience. Performances take place on two outdoor stages during the day and in historic theaters and clubs at night.

This event is in fact, a “Celebration” of the art, soul, history, and future of an all-American art form. We take immense pride in honoring jazz music’s finest artists, and strive to nurture the new voices of today. This year, Telluride continues its highly acclaimed format, making it one of the only places you can enjoy international artists in the intimacy of multiple indoor and outdoor venues. Jazz aficionados world-wide are hip to this unique festival where musicians perform and mingle with all who come to celebrate the music: from high-altitude high-attitude daytime shows surrounded by the magnificent peaks of the San Juan mountains, to the after-dark crawl through Main Street Victorian saloons and concert halls. This Celebration remains tops in jazz, intimacy, and ambiance.

The Telluride Society for Jazz is dedicated to the preservation, appreciation and artistry of the “Great American Art” called Jazz. Since 1977, this event has consistently earned national and international attention for featuring the best in classic/mainstream, blues, and international jazz. It spotlights some of the finest internationally accomplished artists, along with exciting new talent, in a remarkable setting that brings jazz lovers to Telluride from all over the world. Performances are staged outdoors in the daytime and in intimate clubs and historic concert halls by night. We attempt to bring together, not just people who love jazz, but those who cherish the glorious outdoor scenery and the mountain adventures available in Telluride.
