New York pianist Gordon Webster and vocalist Hetty Kate bring their own brand of Lindy-hop swing to Woods Hole in scenic Falmouth on Cape Cod. Webster has recorded six albums and has become one of the most sought after jazz musicians in the lindy hop world drawing upon influences as diverse as Fats Waller, Count Basie and Oscar Peterson. Kate has fronted bands across the globe and is known for her beautiful voice and sense of humor. The two serve up a smorgasbord of styles unified by one characteristic: the irresistible music of the 1930s and 40s. Webster and his band will feature songs from the 2014 release Gordon Webster meets Hetty Kate, a toe-tapping collection of little heard tunes, with arrangements lovingly crafted with lindy-hoppers in mind.
