Artisjus award-winning pianist-keyboard player-drummer and composer. ÁRPÁD ‘TZUMO’ OLÁH is one of the most versatile musicians on the Hungarian jazz scene. Having studied at the Berklee School of Music he was chosen out of several hundred applicants for the Thelonious Monk Institute where he had the chance to play with such jazz giants as Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter and Terence Blanchard. In September 2001 at the Jazz Hoeilaart International Europa competition his group won all the major prizes and Tzumo himself was voted best European soloist. In 2013 at a German-Hungarian inter-club festival in Berlin at the explicit request of world-famous American vibraphonist, David Friedman Tzumo teamed up with him. His music is characterized by its freshness and relentless search for innovation. He is not afraid to incorporate other genres in his playing, but harmony is always present in his compositions. His latest band is So-La-Ti but he also plays in numerous other formations....
