Imarhan vender tilbage til København med deres sjælfulde og hypnotiske take på tuareg-folkets sprøde guitar-hymner. Med deres tredje album, “Aboogi”, er de klar til at indtage Valby Kulturhus. DJ Sabs vender plader før koncerten.

“An ear-opening debut” skrev The Guardian om Imarhans selvbetitlede debutalbum, der udkom i 2016 på det alternative label City Slang. Året efter viste bandet det danske publikum, at de bestemt kunne leve op til hypen, da de gæstede Global på Nørre Allé med en fremragende koncert.
Imarhan, der har deres hjem i Tamanrasset i det sydlige Algeriet, hvor de også har bygget deres eget studie, føjer sig smukt til rækken af orkestre, der med rødder i den nomadiske tuareg-kultur, har betaget resten af verden med hypnotiske og elektriske guitar-hymner.
Imarhan har dog taget tuareg-folkets musik i en mere urban og groovy retning, hvor inspiration fra soul, rock og Algeriets raï-musik blandes med de folkemusikalske rødder og hypnotiske jams. Musikken afspejler både tuareg-stammens spirituelle rødder i det nordlige Mali og en moderne hverdag i det sydlige Algeriet, hvor medlemmerne er vokset op. Resultatet er en på én gang intim, vemodig og rytmisk swingende musik.
Imarhan har netop annonceret deres tredje album, “Aboogi”, der udkommer til januar. Her dykker de både dybt i traditionerne og afsøger nye veje i samarbejde med bl.a. Abdallah Ag Alhousseyni fra tuareg-kongerne i Tinariwen, Gruff Rhys fra Super Furry Animals og den sudanesiske sanger Sulafa Elyas. Albummet følges op af en større tour, der heldigvis også bringer det fantastiske band til København, hvor ALICE har glæden af at præsentere koncert i Valby Kulturhus. Eneste koncert i Danmark i denne omgang og stærkt anbefalelsesværdigt.
