Born in Buffalo NY and a resident of the state of Maryland, Woods has appeared with his own ensembles on radio and television broadcast, and at a number of distinguished performance spaces. His theme music was used for the syndicated Native American cable TV show “Four Winds”. His song “Look What You Done to Me”, recorded by singer Sheila Skipworth, was used in the major feature film “Something New” starring Sanae Latham. His beautiful recording “Eleven Fifty Nine” was featured in the documentary “Drum Major For Justice” by award winning film maker Carvin Eison.

Charles Rahmat Woods is past President of the Syracuse University Alumni Jazz Appreciation Society, Secretary of the Listening Group of Washington, and is a Maryland Touring Artist with the Maryland State Arts Council.
