Guitarist Mathias Sandberg has long been one of the driving forces of the vibrant jazz scene in Vaasa, both as a musician and as the artistic producer of club series. Trained in New York and Boston, the musician has toured Europe and the United States and collaborated with key figures in Nordic jazz. Over the years, the guitar trio, consisting of bassist Zacharias Holmkvist and drummer Stefan Brokvist, has become seamlessly cohesive. The band's debut album "The Doctor" (2020) received great reviews on both sides of the Atlantic. In 2023, they released a new album titled "The Captain," which has been well-received, with critics praising its swinging, intimate, and rich qualities....

Kitaristi Mathias Sandberg on jo pitkään ollut Vaasan elinvoimaisen jazzskenen kantavia toimijoita niin muusikkona kuin klubisarjojen taiteellisena tuottajana. New Yorkissa ja Bostonissa opiskellut soittaja on kiertänyt Euroopassa ja Yhdysvalloissa sekä tehnyt yhteistyötä pohjoismaisen jazzin keskeisten nimien kanssa. Vuosien saatossa saumattomaksi hioutuneessa kitaratriossa ovat mukana basisti Zacharias Holmkvist ja rumpali Stefan Brokvist. Yhtyeen debyyttialbumi The Doctor (2020) sai hienoja arvioita Atlantin molemmin puolin. Vuonna 2023 ilmestyi uusi pitkäsoitto The Captain, jonka vastaanotto on jatkunut kiittävänä: kritiikeissä toistuvat mm. sellaiset sanat kuin svengaava, intiimi, täyteläinen.
