Alder ego
Alder ego is a jazz band formed by four musicians from Helsinki. The band has been active since 2015. The band has toured extensively in Finland and abroad, e.g. Pori jazz, Flame jazz, We jazz and X jazz festivals, as well as the Finnish Jazz Federation’s tour in the autumn of 2019. Alder ego has released two records that have been critical successes, e.g. in Helsinki newspapers and in the Downbeat publication.
The band released their third album in the spring of 2021 through the We Jazz brand. The music on the album sails in even deeper waters, the music reflects the special atmosphere of 2020, but also looks hopefully into the future. The music is intense and bold, with audible influences from the open expression of form of the 60s and nuances of chamber music. Alder ego
Alder ego on neljän helsinkiläisen muusikon muodostama jazzyhtye. Kokoonpano on ollut aktiivinen vuodesta 2015 alkaen. Bändi on keikkaillut runsaasti kotimaassa sekä ulkomailla, mm. Pori jazz, Flame jazz, We jazz ja X jazz-festivaalit sekä jazzliiton kiertue syksyllä 2019. Alder ego on julkaissut kaksi levyä, jotka ovat olleet arvostelumenestyksiä, mm. Helsingin sanomissa sekä Downbeat-julkaisussa.
Yhtye julkaisi keväällä 2021 kolmannen levynsä We jazz-levymerkin kautta. Levyn musiikki seilaa entistä syvimmissä vesissä, musiikki heijastelee vuoden 2020 erikoista tunnelmaa, mutta katsoo myös toiveikkaasti tulevaisuuteen. Musiikki on intensiivistä ja rohkeaa ja siinä on kuultavissa vaikutteita 60-luvun avoimesta muotokielestä ja kamarimusiikin vivahteista. Yhtyeestä on vuosien yhteissoiton ja keikkailun myötä muodostunut tiivis yksikkö, jolla on oma persoonallinen soittotyyli ja tunnistettava yhteissointi.
