The Aiken Center for the Arts (ACA) and Center for African American Culture, Art and History

(CAACAH) present “Jazz in June,” an art exhibition that pays tribute to jazz both as a historic and

The Aiken Center for the Arts (ACA) and Center for African American Culture, Art and History

(CAACAH) present “Jazz in June,” an art exhibition that pays tribute to jazz both as a historic and

living American art form. The exhibition will feature jazz-themed artworks in traditional and modern

media, subject matter, and styles by ten, local and non-local, artists: Anita Cunningham, Christine

Lawrence, D. S. Owens, George Buggs, Kayla Sweigart, Luiza Somodi, Marilyn Hartley, Marisela

Oropeza, Michael Lee and Nena Depaz. The exhibition will include a display that

educates visitors about the CAACAH and its mission to demonstrate the many contributions of

African Americans in Aiken County. Serving as a fundraiser for the CAACAH, the book, titled “A

Pictorial History of African Americans in Aiken County,” will be available for purchase at the ACA for

the duration of the exhibition.

“Art Therapy: Visual Progress Notes, Part II.”
