Mo Egeston All-stars Featuring Cocosoul & Mario Pascal at The Sheldon

On Tuesday January 10, pianist & educator Maurice “Mo” Egeston celebrates 25 years as a St. Louis based musician with a special evening at the Sheldon Concert Hall. He will be joined by his band Mo E All-Stars and singers CocoSoul & Mario Pascal for a concert that blends the sounds of original and reimagined modern soul with Latin, jazz and club inspired dance grooves.

The Sheldon concert will feature arrangements and reworks of music by Bill Withers, Raul Midon, Lanu, Roberta Flack, Donnie Hathaway and Mark De Clive Lowe along with original music by CocoSoul, Mario Pascal and Mo Egeston.

Egeston first emerged as a band leader in the mid 1990s on Washington Avenue, leading to the formation of regional favorites Vargas Swing. He later wrote and released music with the pioneering live electronic music project Urban Jazz Naturals and eventually played keyboards and recorded as a member of Brothers Lazaroff from 2008-2014.

He is currently a resident musician at The Dark Room (Late Night Grooves) and works actively in the St. Louis area as an educator in the private studio (Mo Egeston Piano Studio, Teipen Performing Arts Academy) and classroom (McKendree University).
