Lisa Cooney Carter

Lisa Cooney is the widow of late NYC avant-jazz drummer Lance Carter (1955-2006) who recorded and toured regularly with jazz artist like Sonny Sharrock and Cassandra Wilson. She promotes jazz and experimental music in New York City and beyond. She works with NYC promoter, LivedWiredNYC (www.livewirednyc.com), and manages the improv rock and poetry unit, LUNAR ENSEMBLE. Ms. Cooney is also actively involved in organizing and promoting benefits for a variety of aid organizations that assist musicians with illnesses or who are in crisis, including the Jazz Foundation of America.
