The Judy Nelon Group

The Judy Nelon Group is all about achieving dreams through loving people, enjoying the journey, and lots of hard work. God placed a dream in my heart when I was just a young girl working in my daddy's book, Bible, and record store in Columbus, Georgia. I worked in exchange for listening to the newest gospel records. I fell in love with my heroes: The LeFevres, Blackwood Brothers, and Hovie Lister and The Statesmen. I was fortunate to catch a glimpse of these talented groups in person when they came to town for concerts and live television appearances.

A little later, there was another amazing gospel artist from Los Angeles, California, named Doris Akers whose star was on the horizon. She was a talented songwriter who penned “Sweet Sweet Spirit” and also directed the Sky Pilot Choir. Little did I know we would one day become dear friends and I would record with Doris and her famous choir. My dreams kept coming true as God opened numerous doors in the gospel music industry for me.
