Cantaloupe Music

Cantaloupe Music is the record label created in March 2001 by the three founders of New York's legendary Bang on a Can Festival: composers Michael Gordon, David Lang, and Julia Wolfe, and Bang on a Can managing director Kenny Savelson. Cantaloupe Music is making waves across the country for its adventurous new sounds, and has formed a partnership with harmonia mundi for exclusive U.S. and U.K. distribution, SonArt for distribution in Australia, Sunny Moon for Germany, MA Recordings for Japan, and SRI for Canada. In 2001, all five of Cantaloupe's premiere releases were selected for a major publication's Top 10 list. The raves continued for Cantaloupe's 2002 releases, with Top 10 accolades from the Boston Herald, The Wire, WNYC-FM, and more.
