Machete Records

An independent label that releases recordings by respected percussionist, teacher and bandleader John Santos. His projects include recordings by John Santos and the Machete Ensemble, the John Santos-Omar Sosa Duo and John Santos y El Coro Folklorico Kindembo. Machete's 2003 release, SF Bay, received a Grammy nomination, an acheivement difficult for an independent label/artist to acheive. The label is in the process of releasing John Santos and Machete's 20th Anniversary double CD early in 2005.
