Oval Window Records

oval window records was launched in 2003 with the release of saint dirt elementary school's 'hangin'out with the kid who'd eat anything for a dollar'. the label is run by local percussionist and scene organizer, joe sorbara, out of his home in toronto's west end. it began with the realisation that many of sorbara's favourite musicians didn't have recordings of their music available to the public.

the label runs on a very low budget, putting out recordings when funds are available. although it will therefore evolve slowly, it is sorbara's hope that the label's catalogue will eventually read like a fairly complete list of creative, improvising musicians living and making music in toronto.
