Snaggle is a 6 piece jazz fusion ensemble made entirely of graduates of the Humber College School of Contemporary Music. Heavily influenced by Snarky Puppy as well as a number of the great jazz fusion players, Snaggle features a repertoire of exciting, dynamic and entirely original material. This all-star line up of players, including the fastest drummer in the entire world, have all studied with many of Canada’s greatest jazz masters and represent the next generation of Canadian talent.
As well as being a riveting live band, Snaggle is deeply committed to their educational outreaches to the community. This has taken the form of jazz improvisation workshops that Snaggle has been bringing to high school music programs in Toronto and the surrounding areas.
The band released their debut album September 2013 and will be releasing 'Unexpected Guests', an EP recorded in collaboration with 3 Toronto vocalists in April.

Born on the small Caribbean island of Trinidad, schooled in New York City under Grammy winner Randy Brecker’s watchful eye and now heralded as "Canada’s preeminent jazz trumpeter" by New York City’s Village Voice magazine, the ever dynamic Brownman tirelessly leads no less than 7 highly respected ensembles of his own. He is best known for his work as the featured soloist for GURU's JAZZMATAZZ, leader of Canada's premiere latin-jazz ensemble CRUZAO and for the electrified Miles Davis' influenced BROWNMAN ELECTRYC TRIO (2007 National Jazz Award winner for "Electric Jazz Group of the Year"). Despite the demands of leading 7 groups he continues to be one of the most called upon trumpet players in the Canadian studio industry, his recording credits sitting at just over 300 records to date, making him one of the most recorded trumpet players residing in Canada.
From 2006 to 2010, Brownman was the featured soloist with the legendary New York City jazz-hip-hop artist GURU (of Gangstarr fame) for his JAZZMATAZZ ensemble, now occupying the position formerly held by the luminous Donald Byrd. His time with Guru has led to being one of the most called upon trumpet players in the hip-hop community, now having worked with the likes of Jay-z, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, KRS-One, Big Daddy Kane, Kool Herc and Eminem's D12 crew.
In December 2009 Brownman launched his own independent record label Browntasauras Records, with Brownman Electryc Trio's debut recording of Juggernaut as its flagship release, along with re-issues of his entire back-catalog from other groups he leads. The latest recording "Juggernaut" hit number 4 on the iTunes jazz charts in the USA and was called "the new standard in electric jazz" by NPR Radio, New York.
Since returning to Canada from NYC, he has been on the cutting edge of modern music in the nation for the last decade, winning multiple awards nationally, achieving international recognition while touring the globe and is widely considered to be a vanguard for the evolution of jazz in Canada.
