Yes! Its the Monday Band at 7pm each monday until the end of time. The Monday Band was formed to focus on playing improvised music in a large ensemble and draws its members from the large vibrant group of improvisers in town and passing through. The idea is to have a international band with a open constellation which connects the improvising scene in Copenhagen and performs every week. The band will play minimal compositions, improvising concepts and graphic scores composed and arranged by the members of the band. the band will have a flexible lineup each week but with a core group of artists consistently there. Copenhagen has long needed a place where a steady workshop band could experiment with improvising in a large ensemble and the MondayClub is the place to do it so welcome to THE MONDAY BAND

AKA carries on a personal research through repetitions, polyphony and the exploration of timbric and rhythmic balances within the quartet. Both energetic music, as well as unexpected, collectively shouted short lyrics, convey the substance full of youthful idealism, non-conformism and dreams.

The Great Round is the universe, the primeval darkness, and the generative night sky, but above all it is water and earth, the lifebearing chthonic power of the world; [...] the goddess of heaven, the Feminine is nevertheless the black earth in need of fecundation, and the queen is the goddess of the land. "Eric Neumann _ The Great Mother"
kl 24 Rifbjerg /Besiakov/ Nørgaard/ Bruun
Oscar Alvarez Rifbjerg (piano)
Nana Nørgaard (vocal)
David Besiakov (drums)
Emil Bruun (bass)
One grew up in Seville with Andalusian flamenco and poetry coursing through his veins. The other was born in the cold, narrow streets of Copenhagen, and has spent most of her life around the distorted guitars and rumbling drums of punk and rock. Put Oscar Alvarez Rifbjerg and Nana Nørgaard in a room together and strip them of their inherent genres, and they’re left with only their powerful instruments and temperaments. On stage they’re joined by David Besiakov (drums) and Emil Brun (bass).
