Japanese-born and Brooklyn-based trumpeter Takuya Kuroda combines adventurous soul-jazz and post-bop. A rising voice on the scene, he debuted on Blue Note last year with "Rising Son," bringing together collaborators such as Kris Bowers, Corey King, and José James and delving deep into a sound inspired by 70's funk, Afro-Caribbean beats, and hip-hop/jazz fusion.
