Since 2007 The Way Out has been fiddling around the standing traditions of musical rights and wrongs in ways that have delighted audience after audience. The playfull explorations of TS Hawk and Mads Egetoft sparkle from a timeless conjunction on the energetic free-swinging foundation of Jens Lopes on drums and Jonathan Aardestrup on bass. In November 2017 The Way Out returned from an amazing tour in northern Spain and the band is currently working on releasing it’s third independent album.
The great Danish drummer Kresten Osgood wrote about the band: “ …this band is legendary for strong performances, make sure you get a seat in good time”

The Way Out er et seriøst bud på et unikt underholdende, udadvendt og umiddelbart jazzorkester og vi er lige nu i gang med at få vores program til Jazzfestival op at stå.
Udfra utallige koncertoplevelser står det helt vildt tydeligt, at publikum er på halen over denne her særegne kvartet. Da vi spillede på 5E i København i vinters skrev Kresten Osgood:
“The Way Out have been together for years and are a Mandagsklubben favorite. a collaborative group centered around the twin horn artistry of TS Hawk and Mads Egetoft with a very original sounding rhythm section. this band is legendary for strong performances, make sure you get a seat in good time”
Og om vores seneste udgivelse skrev Niels Overgaard:
“The Way Out er et fornøjeligt bekendtskab fra undergrundsjazzen. Der er en flabet, nærmest punket tilgang til jazzen. Med tanke på, at TS Høeg har været med siden en gang i 70’erne, er det imponerende som han stadig kan spille med den samme ubundne og ungdommelige tilgang til altsaxofonen. Der er så meget spark i den sax. Lopes og Aardestrup er perfekte partnere, når der skal sættes ild til musikken. Det er free, swing og røvseje grooves.”

The Way Out er lige kommet hjem fra en lille, men virkelig god tour til spanien i slut oktober. Samtlige steder ønskede at vi kom tilbage i løbet af 2018.
Vi har spillet sammen i mere end 10 år og har 2 udgivelser (CD og LP) og et hav af koncerter på bagen.
