Renowned Brazilian singer, guitarist, and composer Toquinho (Antônio Pecci Filho) will perform a free concert at the SummerStage, Central Park on Saturday, June 7, 2014, honoring Brazil’s legendary composer Vinicius de Moraes, who wrote the iconic song “Garota de Ipanema” (The Girl from Ipanema). Toquinho collaborated with Vinicius for 11 years, producing 120 songs, 25 records and over a thousand shows.

This concert production is part of the 12th Brazilian Film Festival of New York, an event that is part of the Inffinito Festival Circuit, which has, for the last 18 years, represented and promoted Brazil in the international arena through film festivals, music and gastronomic events, and EMBRATUR, the Brazilian government office of tourism. The Brazilian Film Festival celebrates its 12th edition in the city, from June 1-7, with a special tribute to Vinicius de Moraes, to celebrate his centenary.
