Wind Rose Cellars aspires to be Pacific Northwest’s premier winery for producing Italian style wines. We produce small lots of hand crafted wines from select vineyards in eastern Washington. For white wines, we produce Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Orange Muscat, and a dry rosé we called Rosato. For red wines, we produce Barbera, Primitivo, Dolcetto, Nebbiolo, Sangiovese, Cab Sauv, Malbec, Tempranillo, Grenache, Cab Franc, Petit Verdot, and Carménère. Many of these varieties are very difficult to find in Washington. The Primitivo, Dolcetto, and Nebbiolo are very rare, with around 10 acres total. From the varieties we make, many are around 120 cases per lot, with a total production of around 1000 cases.

Food has always been a passion for us and we regard wine as the penultimate food. Over the past few years, we’ve made a couple of trips to Italy–particularly Piedmont and Sicily–to try the wines, taste the food and experience the rustic Old Country. We try and convey this Old Country character in our wines.
