The VOWSKI quartet was born in early 2023, when drummer Simon Jodlowski and pianist Nathan Mollet were looking for new sounds and musical experiences.The quartet's sound is modern jazz with fusion, rock and ambient overtones. With musicians from both jazz and contemporary music backgrounds, the group takes on an electro-acoustic dimension, with effects-enhanced saxophones, electric keyboards and pianos, and the presence of a bass. The original tracks are divided into several written parts, leaving more room for interpretation and nuance. The composer aims to create suspenseful moments of trance in his tracks, where each musician progressively builds a pyramid of sound, always different from one version to the next. Le quartet VOWSKI voit le jour au début de l’année 2023, lorsque le batteur Simon Jodlowski et le pianiste Nathan Mollet recherchent de nouvelles sonorités et expériences musicales.Ce quartet s’inscrit alors dans un registre de jazz moderne avec des allures fusion, rock et ambient. Avec ses musiciens issus du jazz mais aussi des musiques actuelles, le groupe prend une dimension électro-acoustique avec des saxophones munis d’effets, des claviers et pianos électriques et la présence d’une basse. Les titres originaux sont divisés en plusieurs parties écrites ce qui laisse une place plus importante à l’interprétation et aux nuances. Le compositeur souhaite créer des moments suspensifs de transe dans ses morceaux, où chaque musicien contruit progressivement une pyramide sonore, toujours différente d’une version à l’autre. Tout au long des répétitions, les morceaux évoluent et chaque instrumentiste apporte sa touche personnelle, donnant un projet à la croisée du jazz et des musiques actuelles.
