When an unknown word is spoken, it is becoming an alien sound. When the sound is created with
certain loudness, pitch and curve, it can be perceived as a word, even unknown. What happens in
our minds when we hear something – can we recognize it as a word or just as a sound? What is an
effort one has to do to make a sudden sound a word? Throughout their performance, Croatian
artist Vesna Mačković, Russian musician Roman Stolyar and Austrian electric violinist Mia Zabelka are exploring fragile borders between sounds and words, visual and non-visual, heard and unheard.
