Lu Records
Based in Istanbul & Amsterdam; Lu Records was founded in 2018 by Ahmet Kenan Bilgiç, the lead singer, guitarist and composer of the band Gevende. Bilgiç is an award winning screen composer and lifelong music fan. Lu started its journey with a mission to share music created especially for the visual arts such as feature films, documentaries, live mapping shows and animations. More recently Lu added some unique acoustic folk albums to its catalogue. The soundtrack of the Sundance ‘18 Film Festival Grand Jury Prize winner movie Butterflies is the first soundtrack album of LU Records’. Then came the very niche clawhammer banjo album of Özgün Semerci and the soundtrack album of Venice Film Festival International Film Critics Week Best Film Award winner movie The Gulf composed by Ekin Fil , soundtrack of a docudrama Clouds (by Konstrukt), and a feature film White Whale(by Cenk Erdoğan). Next, LU Records has relased live mapping show Substratum (by Ahmet K. Bilgiç & Serkan E. Çiftçi) that won European Best Live Mapping award, a documentary Time Travels Through Sound (by Berke Can Özcan) and the folk albums of singer- songwriter Süha Rami (produced by Ahmet K Bilgiç) and also in the end of the year Özgün Semerci will have an album compiled from the songs which had been released as a new single in every month of 2019.
