Joris has been experimenting with different types of instruments and ethnic music for over 45 years, in order to create his own style. His music can mainly be described as a combination of jazz and world music. With great passion, Joris has released several CDs in his musical career, toured in and outside Europe with his band Chris Joris Experience, and carried out numerous projects; solo or with other musicians. He has worked with the entire Belgian jazz scene and a few from the pop scene, including Johan Verminnen, Raymond van 't Groenewoud, Jean Blaute, Jef Van Uytsel, The Scabs, De Kreuners, Hennie Vrienten, Nacht und Nebel, Pop in Wonderland, etc....
He has worked and/or recorded with Mal Waldron, Steve Lacy, Rogier van Otterloo, Bob Stewart, Cameron Brown, Eric Person, Baba Sissoko, Adama Dramé, Nippy Noya, Art Farmer, Tony Scott, Toots Thielemans, Philip Catherine, BJO.....
Chris has also written theatre music for the Internationale Nieuwe Scène, Théatre de Poche, MMT, etc.
