Das Rosa Rauschen has existed in varying line-ups since around 1992. The current trio formation, with Achim Kaufmann on piano and Moritz Baumgärtner on drums, has been active for about six years and brings the previous production, 10 Miniaturen (released by Units Records), to life with a light and airy sound. The relatively compact compositions serve as a springboard for collectively transparent improvisations. The focus is placed on sound and interplay, rather than on individual solo performances. Previous productions were characterized by a sonic density and rhythmic drive that was evident in both the compositions and the solos.
