In addition to its festivals, the Berliner Festspiele also present exhibitions of archaeology and cultural history as well as modern art and photography in the Martin-Gropius-Bau, Berlin’s most beautiful exhibition space. This wide-ranging programme is supplemented by literary events, lectures and discussions and by competitions to encourage younger artists. What holds this diverse panorama of culturally themed projects together is a spirit of openness and hospitality. The Berliner Festspiele wish to provide a forum for remarkable, innovative and as yet unknown art, a forum characterized by curiosity and accessibility.
