Experience one of the world's treasures with The Southern Knight, whose musical surge spans five decades. Allen Toussaint kept New Orleans on the map as a songwriter, producer, arranger or performer on tracks like Ernie K-Doe (“Mother In Law”) and the Neville Brothers and Lee Dorsey (whose “Working in a Coal Mine” was also recorded by Devo & The Judds). His other famous songs include “Yes We Can” (Pointer Sisters), “Sneaking Sally Thru The Alley” (Lee Dorsey, Robert Palmer with Little Feat’s Lowell George, Ringo Starr and Phish), instrumental standards “Java” (Al Hirt) and “Whipped Cream" (Herb Alpert) plus the classic “Southern Nights” (Glen Campbell) with the latter two credited with over two million airings! Toussaint even arranged LaBelle's biggest hit “Lady Marmalade.” Just awarded a National Medal Of Arts by President Obama at the White House this past July, Allen Toussaint's new live solo CD/DVD is titled ‘Songbook.’...
