John Taylor’s sublime trio with Palle Danielsson and Martin France is another milestone in the career of this highly acclaimed British pianist, alongside his work with Jan Garbarek, John Surman, and Kenny Wheeler. Taylor’s jazz, classical, compositional, improvisational and listening skills seem to have fallen into some magical balance, with a remarkable ability to be simultaneously assertive and yet infinitely delicate.
