The piano-less trio has had many champions in
jazz history, with Sonny Rollins leading the way
in the 1950s. Tori Freestone continues the
tradition, mixing standards and original
compositions taking inspiration from similar
contemporary trios of the moment. Backed by the
excellent rhythm team of Dave Mannington and
Tim Giles, Freestone has the combination of drive
and that rare ability of seeming to speak through
the instrument and control every syllable.
